True Romance Storyline

Clarence Worley, a penniless hipster in Detroit with a love for Elvis meets a mysterious hooker paid to meet him named Alabama on his birthday in a theater at night. Falling in love, he makes it his mission to dispose of her past, namely her violent pimp, Drexl Spivey. Defeating him and unknowingly taking a vast fortune of Cocaine, the two fight to sell the white gold in Los Angeles as Drexl's associates fight to reclaim it in a bloody romantic thriller full to the brim with style.

True Romance plot

This Quentin Tarantino scripted film uses the theme of 'boy meets girl.' Here, though, boy meets girl, boy kills girl's pimp, couple takes pimp's coke, and bad boys chase couple. And Elvis is their Guardian Angel....

True Romance goofs

CONT: When Alabama is being beaten up by Virgil, her face is bloodied early on. But when Virgil tosses her onto a half-wall and she slides across it, the blood vanishes from her face as she hits the wall (stunt double), and then reappears in the next shot.
CHAR: When Virgil is giving his speech about killing for the first time, he makes a reference to Charles Whitman, the infamous sniper, saying he first killed someone from the top of the tower with his rifle. Charle Whitman had actually killed 5 people already before he started randomly shooting people at the top of the tower.
FAKE: When Clarence's father, Clifford is shot in the head, in a brief close-up front view, a red splatter appears on his forehead but with no kind of wound visible.
CONT: Drexl's left eye is blind and seen without a pupil. After Clarence shoots him, and Drexl is covering his face with his hands, Clarence commands him to open his eyes. We then clearly see a pupil present in the supposedly blind eye.
FAKE: Obvious stunt driver in place of Clarence as he drives away from the Safari Motor Inn.
